A new Motorsport book has just been released, allowing V8 Supercar fans a total uninhibited look at the workings of both the Holden and Ford race cars. "The Insiders Guide – Technical Analysis 2006" is officially licensed by V8 Supercars Australia and has taken images and data from some of the top running teams in the series.

This book is a no-holds-barred look into the deepest secrets of what makes a modern V8 Supercar tick, allowing the reader to visit areas of the cars like engines and suspension which are commonly hidden from view in the workshop and at the track.

A qualified engineer, author Darrell Adams has a background as both a fan and direct involvement in both the engine and engineering departments of many V8 Supercar teams.  This working knowledge has allowed him special insight into the inner workings of the teams and the cars, which shows through in his writing style and the images that are captured.

Says Darrell: "Having always been a fan of the V8’s and then working directly with the series for many years, the level of engineering & resources utilized has always fascinated me. I still make time to keep up with the technology used in these cars and have tried to capture the idiosyncrasies only seen in these vehicles in the book."

The authoring team have pieced together a virtual smorgasbord of information on all aspects of the cars starting from the engines, gearboxes and drive line and then moving into chassis design and construction, suspension, brakes, aerodynamics, tyres, data acquisition, wiring, regulations, and componentry.
